Central Huron Considering Share The Road Program

A few recent tragic incidents have prompted Mayor Jim Ginn to ask Central Huron staff to look into the benefits of joining the Share the Road program.

Ginn says the program educates cyclists and motorists about the rights and responsibilities of sharing the road and he believes it's time to look at a program like Share the Road.

He points out a lot of the popular roads for cyclists are hilly and it's very easy for a motorists to suddenly come up over a hill and find a slower-moving vehicle in their path if they are not aware of that possibility.

Ginn adds part of the Share the Road program involves signs to remind cyclists and motorists of the potential for collisions.
