Meaford is one of the least expensive communities in the south Georgian Bay area to buy a home. That's according to numbers supplied by the South Georgian Bay Association of Realtors.
The statistics come from the western region which includes Wasaga Beach, Collingwood, Clearview, The Blue Mountains, Grey Highlands and Meaford.
In the first six months of this year, 71 homes and other properties changed hands in Meaford, up from 65 properties during the first six months of 2014.
The average price of homes sold was just over $314,00, which is a 16.5 percent increase over the price of homes and properties that changed hands during the first half of last year.
The SGBAR report lists The Town of the Blue Mountains as the most expensive, with the average home price in the first half of this year at more than $608,000.
