Clinton Health Care Meeting Attracts Crowd

About 70 residents and health care providers from Huron and Perth counties attended a public meeting in Clinton last night, hosted by the South West Local Health Integrated Network.

CEO Michael Barrett explains the LHIN reviews its service plan every three years and they're currently presenting their plan for 2016 to 2019 for public input.

Barrett says they've listed seven priorities in their draft document including mental health and addictions, hospital care, home care, care for chronic conditions, palliative care, rehabilitative care, and primary care.

Barrett adds they've been visiting communities throughout the LHIN to ask the public if they feel the LHIN has identified the right priorities.

Feedback from the public meetings will directly form the LHIN Health Service Plan for the next three years.
