A crash in Perth County sent a Huron East woman to a London hospital by air ambulance for major injuries.
The OPP says it happened at 7:40pm last night at the corner of Perth Rd. 180 and Line 36. A Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Seirra collided, sending both vehicles into a field.
The 61-year-old driver of the Tahoe, from Huron East, was treated in hospital for minor injuries but the 64-year-old female passenger had to be airlifted to London. A 38-year-old Wellesley resident driving the GMC was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
It's the second crash at the intersection of Perth Rd. 180 and Line 36 in a week. On July 22, three people had to be taken to hospital after a car and livestock truck collided after a crash.
Traffic on Line 36 is controlled by stop signs as it intersects with Perth Rd. 180.
Perth County OPP Constable Kees Wijands says the intersection follows provincial rules.
"Intersections within the county do pretty much abide by these requirements and it's up to the motorists," says Wijands. "We always want to switch the blame and put it somewhere else but the blame has to be on ourselves. We need to be the ones that take charge and take responsibility for our driving behaviour and our actions on the road."
One of the issues at play is the speed limit. With Perth Rd. 180 and Line 36 both 80 km/h zones, Wijands says any collision will be serious.
