The very hot, dry conditions in the area have prompted Hanover Fire Chief Ken Roseborough to issue a ban on all open-air fires within the town, effective immediately.
The Ministry of Natural Resources indicates that Hanover is currently in a high fire danger zone.
This means that fire danger is serious and extreme caution must be used.
The ban applies to all campfires and recreational fires and will be in place until further notice.
