ACW Council Questions Port to Point

Councillors with Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh are supportive of the Port to Point Trail in principle but want a few points clarified in the formal agreement with the Trail Association.

Reeve Ben Van Diepenbeek points out the municipality is applying for a grant on behalf of the Trail Association and the municipality wants the language to show that the municipality accepts no liability in the event the volunteer Trail Committee defaults at some time in the future.

The agreement has been sent back to A-C-W's lawyer to have the necessary adjustments made before it comes back to council.

Van Diepenbeek adds while the municipality supports the trail, it is not in a position to accept any financial or legal responsibility for it.
