Minto Mayor Calls For Drivers In Harriston To Slow Down

Signs are popping up around Harriston urging drivers to slow down.

Minto councillors report they have been receiving calls from citizens concerned about drivers running stop signs along the detour around Main St. now that construction is underway.

Citizens are particularly concerned in the area of the Harriston pool.

"We sure don't want to lose any of our children, or any of our citizens for that matter, because somebody is impatient. So, please follow the rules of the road and drive sensibly," Acting Mayor Ron Faulkner tells CKNX News.

Minto council will ask the OPP for increased vigilance along the detour.
