Lab Services More Accessible At Stratford Hospital

Patients at Stratford General Hospital should now find relocated laboratory test and ECG's more accessible.

Patients will now register for those services on the first floor of the West Building Outpatient Clinic Area, near patient registration.

Patients are asked to go through the double doors, take a number and sit in the waiting room on the right.

The change also uses hospital space more effectively.

“I believe the move to the first floor will be a positive one for patients as well as staff,” says Thurman Reynolds, Laboratory Unit Action Council member and Patient representative. “Grouping lab staff and patients with other outpatient clinics eliminates the isolation they felt in their former location on the fifth floor.”

The area will also be used for scheduled appointments for MRIs, bone scans, and hand therapy.

“At HPHA our team prides itself on providing care that encourages involvement from our patients and their families,” says Robert Scheuermann, laboratory manager. “The voice of the patient and family along with the voice of our staff are working together to co-create the way we deliver care.”
