Meaford Run/Walk/Stroll Today

Runners and walkers of all ages are busy preparing for the annual Run-Walk in Meaford, this morning.

Sponsored and conducted by the Meaford Hospital Foundation, the event includes three races rather than one. And each race is designed for a specific age and fitness level. The most ambitious is the 5 km competitive run/walk for various age categories. There’s also a 1 km Kid’s Run and a 1.5 km Stroll for those who would rather walk.

The Run-Walk begins at the Meaford Harbour Pavilion at 7:45am. Participants can pre-register before Saturday or register early Saturday morning.

Meaford Hospital Foundation members hope to raise more than $40,000 in pledges from this year’s event. Their goal is to surpass the $300,000 raised during the past 19 years of the Run-Walk. All money raised goes to capital projects including improvements to the oncology unit at the Grey-Bruce Health Centre in Owen Sound.
