A request from the Alexandra Marine and General Hospital in Goderich to form a working partnership with Huron County has been expanded to include all of the hospitals in the county.
All five hospitals were part of a delegation with representatives of the Southwest LHIN at yesterday's council meeting.
Councillors felt the partnership was a good idea but should include all five hospitals.
CAO Brenda Orchard explained council has asked for a report from staff and she's suggesting that be part of an internal service review scheduled for September.
Orchard adds it's too early to speculate on what form a partnership would take but pointed out the county does operate nursing homes and EMS services, so those would be starting points.
