Toddler Wanders Outside Alone in Owen Sound

Police in Owen Sound are reminding parents with young children to make sure a child cannot leave a residence on their own - especially if they are visiting an unfamiliar place.

That's what happened early yesterday morning. A three-year-old girl walked out of a residence undetected by the occupants. The child had been staying the night with her father at a friend’s house on the east side of the city.

Luckily, two Grey County paramedics spotted the barefoot girl and a dog wandering away from a home. They brought the toddler into their vehicle, and called police when they could not find parents or an adult. Police were able to locate the girl's father a short time later.

Bruce Grey Child and Family Services were contacted, to ensure the safety of the child.
