Two Canadian Writers Speak At Harmony Centre In Owen Sound

Two noted Canadian writers on aboriginal issues will speak in Owen Sound Saturday.

John Ralston Saul and Lee Maracle will make presentations at an event called 'Wasa-Nabin - We are All Treaty People.'

The event is being put on by the M'Wikwedong Native Cultural Resource Centre.

Organizer MaryAnn Wilhelm says the speakers will promote understanding between native and non-native cultures.

"In this area you're sandwiched between two First Nations communities, there's a lot of history here and I think it's very important that we bring forward more details about our historical relationships amongst each other," says Wilhelm.

The event with John Ralston Saul and Lee Maracle is Saturday afternoon from 1pm to 4pm at the Harmony Centre in Owen Sound.
