Funding Creates 93 Summer Jobs in Grey and Bruce Counties

The Canada Summer Jobs Program will fund local employers to create about 93 new temporary jobs for youth.

Bruce Grey Owen Sound MP Larry Miller says the $209,571.00 provides job grants to not for profit organization, public sector employers, and small business with 50 or fewer employees.

Full-time students aged 15 - 30 are eligible to gain employment, skills and experience through the program.

Last year the program funded 87 jobs in Grey Bruce.

“I congratulate all of the local employers who successfully received funding through their applications to the Canada Summer Jobs program,” said Miller. “This program is a great way for local employers to ensure that they are able to hire young and skilled workers and is also a great way for students to gain valuable work experience while also saving money for the following school year.”
