NBP To Vote On 3.7 Per Cent Increase

Northern Bruce Peninsula has seen its budget increase 3.7 per cent in 2015.

The increase equates to a $13 raise for the average taxpayer.

The OPP's new billing model means the municipality has gone from paying around $700,000 for policing, to $1.3-million.

"That increase alone represents a four per cent increase to our budget," Mayor Milt McIver tells CKNX News. "So that was difficult to work with and will continue to be difficult to deal with for the next three or four years."

Council will vote on the budget April 27.
