Bluewater and Central Huron Consider Economic Development Partnership

Bluewater and Central Huron are looking at pooling their economic development resources.

Both councils agreed this week to investigate the possibility of sharing the cost of a full-time economic development officer.

Bluewater Mayor Tyler Hessel points out the two municipalities share a long stretch of shoreline and both also have urban centres inland so there would be advantages in working together to the benefit of both communities.

Hessel also points out that both municipalities recognize the reality that federal and provincial governments look for regional grants opportunities.

Hessel expects other municipalities will start working together with a regional approach to common issues.
