The St. Marys Memorial Hospital Auxiliary raised over $13,000 for the 2014/2015 fiscal year.
The money helped the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance purchase several important pieces of patient care equipment.
The foundation helped buy a ceiling lift to help transfer patients in a safe, comfortable and dignified way. A sleeper chair provides home like comfort for patients' family members who wish to stay overnight.
An adult and pediatric pulse oximetre measures blood oxygen and pulse rates. And a new mini isolation cart helps store supplies required to reduce the risk of hospital acquired infections.
The auxiliary raised money with gift shop sales, bingo and bake sales.
“We are lucky to live in such a generous community,” says Auxiliary President Larry Beattie. “Through the dedication of our volunteers and community members who support our gift shop and fundraising initiatives, we are able to give back to our patients and families in a meaningful way.”
