Food Action Network Looks at Rural Lens

Members of the Huron Food Action Network now have a better understanding of a 'rural lens'.

Consultant Joan Brady presented members with her vision of a 'rural lens', explaining that it starts with defining what the rural reality is.

Brady said the tool is to be used in Huron County first, and then taken outside the county as a guideline for people who pass legislation or formulate policies that often don't work in rural Ontario.

Brady pointed out that quite often people in an urban population don't understand the rural context, and a rural lens will give them some idea of how things work in rural Ontario.

The Huron Food Action Network also unveiled a new logo and launched a new web site at the meeting.
