Residential taxes in Hanover are going up by just under two per cent in 2015.
At Monday night's meeting, Hanover council learned that, with education and county levies, residential taxes will increase by 1.96 per cent this year.
The levies bring the rate down from the municipality's 2.2 per cent increase, which was part of their previously-approved 2015 budget.
This budget was Sue Paterson's first as Hanover's mayor, and the first since the 2014 Municipal Election.
"We've all asked more questions and we've all had to learn a lot more because funding is reduced," Paterson told CKNX News after Monday's meeting, "I've also asked for an operational review of our services because I think we can find deficiencies."
The increase equates to a $48 increase for the average taxpayer.
