Huron County has completed a verification call-out for its Community Notification system.
The system is called Huron Ready, and county 911 System Specialist Ian Siertsma says the verification was completed in the first week of March.
Roughly 47 per cent of active properties in Goderich and about 50 per cent throughout the county are registered with the program.
Siertsma points out the system was very valuable during the Goderich tornado but can also be helpful for something as simple as a boil-water advisory.
Anyone who would like to find out more about the Huron Ready program or to sign up can go to the Huron County web site and search Huron Ready.
Siertsma points out at it's not as critical to get vacant properties into the system but adds anyone who is on the system and was not called but would like to confirm their information can call the county at 1-888-524-8394, extension 3711.
