Huron County Marks Nutrition Month

Huron County is celebrating Nutrition Month this month by joining with the Dieticians of Canada to launch their Eating 9 to 5 campaign.

Huron County Public Health Dietician Scholastica Madu says research shows 45 per cent of Canadians find it a challenge to eat healthy meals and snacks at work.

She adds that problem is compounded by the fact that many of us spend day sitting at a desk.

She suggests people consider things like fruit or salads instead of chocolate bars and cookies, drink more water and less coffee, and try to stand or even walk around whenever possible.

Madu points out that there's no reason why we can't stand up when we're talking on the phone and walking across an office to talk to someone is much better than phoning or emailing them.
