Federal NDP to Nominate Bruce Grey Owen Sound Candidate

There's a three-way race for the federal NDP nomination for the Bruce-Grey Owen Sound riding. The nomination meeting is tomorrow evening in Owen Sound.

All three candidates are active in social justice issues in the Grey-Bruce area.

David McLaren is a writer who works with Peace and Justice Grey Bruce, and is the author of a recent Report on Precarious Work that is now being considered by Councils in Grey-Bruce.

Trish Meekins is an Indigenous woman, born and raised in Grey-Bruce, and has worked in counselling and education in the local area for two decades.

MaryAnn Wilhelm is a board member of the Women's Centre, a representative on the NDP Aboriginal Commission, and presently serves as President of the NDP riding association.

The nomination meeting will be held in the OPSEU Members Room at the BDO Building in Owen Sound, starting at 7:00 Thursday evening. It is open to the public.
