Central Huron Host Meeting Over REACH Facility

Mayor Jim Ginn says a significant number of Central Huron residents braved some stormy weather Thursday night to attend a public portion of a strategic planning exercise for the REACH Centre.

Ginn explains the feeling among many of the people at the meeting that the centre was primarily for horses but he points out there's a lot more to the facility than just the arena.

"I think there is a bit of lack of knowledge of what acts go on there and when it isn't rented out." Gin tells CKNX News. "There are only a few weekends a year that it is not in use, and the feeling was that they would like to see it used more in the community rather than users outside the community."

A consulting firm has been hired as part of the overall strategic planning process and Ginn says they'll wait to see their report before making any decisions going forward.
