United Way Perth Huron May Miss Fundraising Target

The United Way Perth Huron's annual fundraising campaign has hit the 75 per cent mark.

So far, $850,000 has been raised, with a target of $1.17 million.

Executive Director Ryan Erb says individual donations are up significantly. However, workplace campaigns and special events funding is down.

Erb says the campaign has been trailing behind expectations and they are now predicting a $40,000 shortfall.

Campaign volunteers are working hard to try and avert that.

The campaign supports nearly 50 agencies, projects and programs in the two counties

"It’s really important that we meet the goal,” says Campaign Chair and Chief of Police John Bates. “So many important projects and agencies are relying on the United Way.”

Co-Chair Wayne Smith, says “We need everyone’s help to meet our goal. And, what better time of year to think about giving a gift.”
