Our Kids Bruce Grey Appeals For Donations

The fundraising arm of Bruce Grey Child and Family Services is appealing for more financial help this Christmas.

The Our Kids Bruce Grey Foundation has reached $40,000 in pledges towards its "Hope for a Child" annual Holiday campaign.

Last year, this campaign raised close to $90,000, which helped nearly 200 local children with access to such things as snowsuits, groceries, and tutoring.

For a $500 donation, a child or youth can receive a year’s support for their special needs. This can include warm winter clothing, infant and toddler equipment such as cribs and safety gates, special tutoring to help with learning disabilities, and other special needs that depend on the individual child being supported.

Sponsorship and donation information is on their web site at www.ourkidsbrucegrey.ca

Cindy Wheeler, spokesperson for the foundation, says the holiday season is a special time to give back to our local communities, and every dollar donated to this cause directly helps a local child for an entire year.

A donation can be broken into monthly or quarterly payments. You can share the cost with a friend, co-worker, or family member and payment can be made by cash, cheque, VISA and Mastercard.

Tax receipt are issued for sponsorship.
