South Bruce And Huron-Kinloss Remain In The Running For Underground Nuclear

Huron-Kinloss and South Bruce remain on a shorter list of municipalities that could host an underground nuclear disposal facility.

Kathryn Shaver of the Nuclear Waste Management Organization, says as the municipalities prepare for very detailed studies and engagement, they need to narrow their focus, and align with the long-term vision of their communities.

This is the third of nine steps in a process to evaluate suitability of communities to host the underground storage project.

Huron-Kinloss Mayor Mitch Twolan is anxious to see the process move forward.

Brockton Mayor David Inglis stated earlier that all available information about a possible storage facility will be reviewed this month by the new council.
