Huron Perth Hospitals Bed Shuffle Underway

The Huron-Perth Healthcare Alliance started its new bed re-distribution system this week.

CEO Andrew Williams explains the ultimate goal is to have resources in place where they're most needed, and the right beds in the hospitals where those beds are going to be used. But Williams also admits the implementation has been disruptive and he congratulated staff for dealing as well as they have with the changes.

Williams says they've always believed in four strong hospitals and thinking of the alliance as one hospital with four wings. He says the redistribution of beds will make the alliance a stronger organization and able to provide better care to its four communities.

Willians adds they also have new communications stations in Clinton and Seaforth. The station in Seaforth has just been completed. Construction of the station in Clinton is still underway.

Williams says they're very excited about the additions of both of those stations.
