The new Chair of the Avon Maitland District School Board believes the time was right for him to run for Chair again.
Randy Wagler was also Chair of the board four years ago. Wagler says he's looking forward to bringing the three new trustees and the returning trustees together.
Wagler points to declining enrolment in the secondary level as one challenge but adds the board is in a good position to deal with that. He adds the announcement that the province is going to be cutting funding for education is another concern, but he believes the board is operating very efficiently.
Overall Wagler says he's pleased with the work the board is doing and how it is incorporating technology into the curriculum. Lynette Geddes was elected Vice-Chair for the second time.
