Chesley Man Facing Drug Charges

A 28-year-old Chesley man is facing meth and marijuana possession charges after being arrested on Tuesday.

Officials say an off-duty officer saw a male suspect who had an outstanding arrest warrant just south of the town at about 8:40am on Tuesday.

As officers attempted to arrest the male, police say he fled on foot.  A suspect was later arrested after a brief struggle.

Robert Richard St. Jean of Chesley has been charged with escaping lawful custody, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of cannabis, possession of cannabis resin and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

Hanover police say this case is unrelated to the raid on a 5th Ave. home earlier this week.
