Purple Scarf Campaign In Grey Bruce

You may see a lot people wearing purple scarves this month in the region. Purple has become the colour and symbol in the fight to end abuse against women.

November is Woman Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month in the province.

Women's House Serving Bruce and Grey is asking residents to decorate homes and businesses with purple lights, balloons, streamers or any other purple supplies to help raise awareness.

Women and men are encouraged to show their support by purchasing and wearing a "Wrapped in Courage" purple scarf.

Scarves are being sold at many local retail outlets, including in Kincardine, Port Elgin, Lucknow, Walkerton, Paisley, Hanover, and Southampton. Proceeds go directly to help local women.
