Lightning Strike First In Game 1 Against River Lions

The London Lightning topped the Niagara River Lions 151-115 in their playoff series opener on Friday.

The River Lions fell behind 40-28 in the first quarter and London extended their lead to 77-50 at halftime. The Lightning continued to crush Niagara in the third to take a 38-point lead as the game entered the final frame.  The River Lions were still no match for Lightning as they retained their lead to win with a 36-point advantage.

Doug Herring Jr. and Garrett Williamson led London with 22 points apiece. Ryan Anderson also put up 20 points and seven assists, while Julian Boyd had 17 points and four rebounds.

The Lightning now lead the best-of-five series 1-0.

The two teams face off in Game 2 on Saturday at 7pm.
