Jr. Hockey Wrap-Up – March 6, 2018

The London Nationals shutout Strathroy 6-0 to sweep the Rockets in Game 4 of their playoff series on Tuesday.

James Turner and Matt Granger led London with two goals each, while Carson Brookshaw and Riley MacRae both scored once.

The Nationals now head to the GOJHL semifinals.

The Leamington Flyers also swept the Komoka Kings, following a 4-2 victory in Game 4.

Griffin Robinson, Preston Corp, Cody Schneider and Blake Johnson all scored once for Leamington.

The Flyers will move on to the semifinals.

And in Junior C playoff action, the Lakeshore Canadiens took a 2-0 series lead, after beating the Essex 73's 3-2 in overtime.

Connor Rosaasen scored the game-winner in OT for Lakeshore, while Brandon Ireland and Matt Smith each added a goal of their own during regular play.

Dawson Winchester scored both goals for Essex.

The two teams face off in Game 3 on Friday at 8pm in Lakeshore.

Chatham-Kent police reported a 44-year-old man driving a pickup truck was killed in the crash at Jeanettes Creek Road and Coutts Line around 6 p.m. Tuesday.
