Marner Named CHL Player of the Year

The CHL has named London Knights player Mitch Marner the Sportsnet Player of the Year.

The Knights co-captain scored 39 goals and 77 assists for 116 points in the season.

The 19-year-old from Thornhill ON, represented Canada at the 2016 IIHF World Junior Championship and was selected fourth overall by the Toronto Maple LEafs in the 2015 NHL draft.

Other finalists for the award include Ottawa Senators prospect Francis Perron of the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies, and Florida Panthers prospect Dryden Hunt of the Moose Jaw Warriors.
