Person assaulted, vehicle damaged in Woodstock

An Ingersoll resident is facing an assault charge in connection with an attack on a person in Woodstock.

The person was accosted and then followed to their vehicle in the area of Norwich Avenue and Montclair Drive around 11 p.m. on Monday.

After the assault, the victim's vehicle was pelted with glass and repeatedly struck before the attacker took off.

Woodstock police were called and arrested a suspect a short distance away.

A 26-year-old from Ingersoll is charged with one count each of assault and mischief under $5,000.

No injuries were reported.
