London man charged with sexual assault

London police have charged a 46-year-old man with sexual assault and obtaining sexual service for consideration after a month-long investigation.

According to police, on January 21, a woman was contacted in relation to sexual services that she had advertised online. The male suspect agreed to meet the woman at a residence in the area of Thompson Road and King Edward Avenue.

The man arrived at the residence around 4 p.m., and through the course of the interaction, the man demanded services which had not been agreed upon.

The man allegedly physically assaulted the victim after she declined those services.

The victim contacted police and officers with the human trafficking unit launched an investigation.

Police say through the course of their probe, a suspect was identified. On February 29, a London man was arrested in the east-end of the city.

The accused is scheduled to appear in London court in April to answer to the charges.
