Londoner charged with impaired after big rig seen swerving

Impaired driving charges have been laid against a London man after a transport truck was seen swerving and veering off an Aylmer road.

A concerned driver called Aylmer police just before 2 p.m. last Thursday to report the big rig in front of them was repeatedly swerving and hitting the shoulder of the road on Highway 3.

Police located and stopped the transport shortly after. The driver allegedly performed poorly on a roadside sobriety test that was administered by police. He was arrested and taken to the local police detachment for further testing for drug impairment.

A 41-year-old London man has been charged with impaired driving. The transport truck was seized and impounded for seven days. The Londoner is scheduled to appear in St. Thomas court in relation to the charges next month.
