Charges have been laid after London police seized a sawed-off shotgun, carfentanil, cocaine, and a variety of other drugs from a southeast-end home.
Officers with the police guns and gangs section and the emergency response unit searched a home in the area of Pond Mills Road and Commissioners Road East around 4 p.m. on Wednesday. The raid on the home was part of an ongoing weapons investigation, police said.
Officers seized a sawed-off 12 gauge pump action shotgun, a .177 calibre pellet rifle, several 12 gauge shotgun rounds, a bulletproof vest, 153 grams of carfentanil, 28 grams of cocaine, two grams of methamphetamine, 12 and a half clonazepam pills, five pregabalin pills, two dextroamphetamine, and a dozen vyvanse pills, along with a cellphone
The estimated value of the drugs found is $28,676, police said.
A 42-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man, both from London, were arrested. They have been charged with a dozen offences including possession of a firearm without a licence, possession of a firearm knowing the serial number has been tampered, possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
The man also faces three additional charges of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order.
The pair are scheduled to appear in London court in relation to the charges on Thursday.
