Elderly pedestrian killed in collision with school bus

A collision involving a school bus in St. Thomas has claimed the life of an elderly pedestrian.

According to St. Thomas police, the 75-year-old woman was crossing the intersection of Talbot Street and Manitoba Street around 3:20 p.m. Monday when she was struck.

The woman was taken to hospital where she later died from her injuries.

Police have identified the woman as Elizabeth Anderson of St. Thomas.

Talbot between Manitoba Street to Alma Street was closed for several hours while police probed the collision. It was reopened around 7:30 p.m. on Monday.

The investigation is continuing, police said.
