A pedestrian is in hospital with serious injuries after a hit-and-run in east London early Monday morning.
Emergency crews were called to the collision at the intersection of Highbury Avenue North and Florence Street just after 3 a.m. They found a man who had been hit suffering from serious injuries. The man was taken to hospital for treatment.
The vehicle involved in the crash took off from the scene before officers arrived, police said. A description of that vehicle has not been released.
The police traffic management unit is probing the incident and will be flying a drone over the area.
Highbury between Dundas and Brydges streets was closed while investigators were on scene throughout the morning commute. The road was reopened shortly after 9:30 a.m.
