Child pornography charges laid against London man

A tip from an American non-profit organization has led to child pornography charges being laid against a London man.

In early January, the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children and the National Child Exploitation Crime Center notified London police about an ongoing investigation involving a man from the city. The investigation ultimately saw officers with the police internet child exploitation (ICE) unit search a home on Belgrave Avenue on January 30.

Police seized devices from the home that they say contained evidence of suspected child pornography.

A 44-year-old London man has been charged with unlawfully possessing child pornography. He is scheduled to appear in London court on March 11.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.

Anyone with information about this investigation is asked to call police at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
