Two Caledon men are facing fraud charges after allegedly trying to buy a vehicle with false documents.
London police were contacted at around 3 p.m. on January 24 about a possible fraud in the city's north end.
Officers learned that two days before the report, a man from outside of the city called a business in the area of Hyde Park and Sarnia roads to potentially purchase a vehicle.
"The man provided the business with documents to purchase the vehicle and during that process the business suspected some of the documents provided may have been fraudulent," police said in a news release.
On Friday, police were alerted when two men arrived to pick up the vehicle. One man was arrested inside the business, the second was found and arrested a short distance away.
A 22-year-old man and a 25-year-old man have been jointly charged with conspiracy to commit an indicatable offence.
The 22-year-old has also been charged with:
Fraud over $5000
Personation with intent to obtain property
Fraudulent concealment
Two counts of possession of an identity document
Both men are scheduled to appear in London court on February 29.
