London police seized a loaded gun and a quantity of drugs during the arrest of a wanted man near the east end of the city over the weekend.
Officers saw the man who was wanted on outstanding warrants walking in the area of Adelaide Street North and Grey Street just after 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. The man was arrested.
He was found to be in possession of a loaded firearm and a quantity of drugs, police said. The amount of drugs seized was not specified by police.
A 32-year-old London man has since been charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a loaded regulated firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order, and possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.
The man is scheduled to appear in court in relation to the charges on August 10.
