Residents in southwestern Ontario will have several more flight options to tropical destinations that won’t require them to travel to larger airports away from home.
Flair Airlines announced a number of sun routes to its upcoming fall/winter schedule on Tuesday, including flights out of London and Windsor to attractive destinations such as Cancun, Mexico and Orlando, Florida.
Flair President and CEO Stephen Jones said the decision to add these flights to markets in Windsor and London were selected because of the demands seen from the two cities. Jones added the destinations added to the rotation are regarded as good family destinations and will offer more convenient options to travellers.
“Canadians want affordable options to sun this winter, and we’ve heard them. The additions we’ve made to our winter schedule reflect our commitment to offering exciting options for our customers to create their own getaway without breaking the bank,” said Jones.
Windsorites wanting to visit popular Floridian spots such as Disney World can expect to pay a one-way ticket price between $100 to $210 with flights also being offered two times per week. Airfare to Mexico will cost between $159 to $289 with once per week service available.
“We are excited to enhance our relationship with Flair Airlines and offer additional sun destination options right here from YQG [Windsor]” said Mayor and Windsor International Airport Board chair Drew Dilkens.
According to Flair’s booking website, one way flights from London to Orlando will fly out twice weekly with prices starting at $99 ranging to about $190 depending on the departure date. Flights twice a week from the Forest City to Cancun will range between $139 to $249.
“Flair continues to invest in our airport and community adding more service and destinations for everyone to enjoy,” said London International Airport CEO Scott McFadzean, noting that Flair currently offers summer travel to popular Canadian spots including Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg and Halifax.
Flair has added a total of 13 new routes across the country to its winter schedule. Other routes include a two times weekly flight from Kitchener-Waterloo to Las Vegas that will eventually increase to four times weekly.
