Security guard assaulted during east London robbery

A 23-year-old man has been arrested after a violent robbery at an east London business.

According to London police, a man walked into the unnamed business on Dundas Street near Clarke Road around 5:40 p.m. on Wednesday and proceeded to steal items. When a security guard tried to stop the man he was assaulted.

Police were called and arrested a suspect without incident.

Approximately $1,000 worth of the business' property was recovered by police.

The security guard suffered minor injuries.

A London man has since been charged with robbery, failing to comply with a release order, and breach of probation. He has been released from police custody and is set to return to court on June 1.
