Londoner accused of impaired driving after pedestrian hit

Impaired driving charges have been laid after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Richmond Row and left with serious injuries.

Emergency crews were called Sunday morning around 3 a.m. after a man was hit by a vehicle near Richmond Street and Queens Avenue.

Paramedics rushed the victim to hospital with life threatening injuries. According to police, he currently remains in critical condition.

The driver of the involved vehicle did not remain at the scene, police said, but officers were able to track him down later on Sunday.

The accused has since been released from custody and will appear in London court on June 14.

London police say members of the Traffic Management Unit are continuing the investigation.
