Two teens have been arrested by after an armed robbery on the Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation.
Around 5 a.m. Tuesday, Middlesex County OPP, along with members of the Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation Police, were called to a property on Keystone Place where two people had been assaulted. The accused are alleged to have attended the address to complete a purchase that was initiated online - for the victims, the transaction did not go according to plan.
Following the incident, the suspects allegedly fled the scene and their vehicle collided with a school bus full of adults on Sunset Road, about 20 kilometres southeast of the site of the incident. No injuries were reported. The two young suspects were then reportedly taken into custody by Elgin OPP.
According to OPP, a 17-year-old of Ancaster and a 16-year-old of Hamilton are each facing multiple charges including armed robbery, possession of a weapon, possession of over 30 grams of dried cannabis, and failure to comply with release orders.
Police say the accused have been held for bail and the investigation is continuing.
The suspect identities are protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
