Foul play ruled out in death of woman found behind school

London police say the death of a woman found in "medical distress" behind a school in north London on Christmas Eve is not considered suspicious.

Emergency crews were called to the rear of Jack Chambers Public School on Hastings Drive shortly after 8 a.m. on Saturday where they found the woman. She was taken to hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

Investigators with the police service's major crime section assisted the coroners service in the death investigation that followed. Residents who had seen the woman and security camera footage from nearby homes were sought.

"The deceased individual is confirmed to be an adult female, and the death does not appear to be suspicious in nature," police confirmed on Wednesday. "No further identifying information is being released at this time."

Police did not publicly release a cause of death.
