Highway 402 reopened

After a closure that began on Friday, Highway 402 has reopened.

The OPP announced late Sunday morning that the highway had reopened between Sarnia and London. Both directions of the highway had been closed since Friday, when a major winter storm arrived, causing slippery roads, near-zero visibility, and several crashes including a pileup near Kerwood Road that involved dozens of vehicles.

While the highway is open, anyone venturing out on Christmas Day is urged to do so with the utmost caution.
