Londoner charged after gun seized during traffic stop

Charges have been laid against a London man after police found a loaded gun during a traffic stop northwest of the city.

An OPP officer spotted a suspicious vehicle on Coldstream Road in Middlesex Centre around 12:30 p.m. on Friday. The officer stopped the vehicle without incident.

During the investigation, a loaded firearm was found inside the vehicle. The driver and lone occupant was arrested.

A 26-year-old London man has since been charged with 13 offences including carrying a concealed weapon, unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm, driving with an open container of liquor, having cannabis readily available while driving, failure to surrender insurance card, and failure to display two plates.

The accused was held for a bail hearing, police said.
