Racial slurs spray painted on St. Thomas park equipment

Police in St. Thomas are investigating after vandals spray painted racial slurs on playground equipment at a city park.

The hateful words were spotted on the equipment at the Peter Laing Parkette on Forest Avenue near First Avenue early Wednesday.

Police released no other details about the terms used.

The city has made arrangements to remove the graffiti, police said.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call police at 519-631-1224 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Information can also be sent online anonymously to London Elgin Middlesex Crime Stoppers.
