Covent Garden Market changing GMs for the second time in less than a year

In October of 2021, the Covent Garden Market named a new General Manager.

In July of 2022, they're searching for a new one.

The market announced on Thursday in a message to merchants that Sam Latella's employment was terminated by the market's board  less than nine months after he took over the role.

"The board made the difficult decision to terminate the employment of general manager Sam Latella and have now appointed Amy Shackleton as the new interim general manager," chair Jared Zaifman said in a statement to Blackburn Media. "As this is an HR matter there is not more we can share but we want to wish Sam all the best in his future endeavours."

Calls to Shackleton were unreturned on Thursday afternoon.

Latella was the board's choice to take over the general manager role from Bob Usher, who had done the job for 18 years.
